I’ve heard I walk like a drunk duck when I wear heels. I guess it is because I wobble around bow-legged (& eat crumbs off the grass, nip at children & stick my head in ponds Buy Cheap Ugg boots but don’t be concerned about that.) Heels & I do not mix, so I have had to stick to what I do know: Flats. I have got about 25 pair of them & naturally each set is different. Forever the preserve of ladyfolk, Ugg are now looking to corner the men’s market with a more masculine take on the sheep skin shoes. Do you dare?

Ugg boots burst in to our lives over 5 years ago & we are not going anywhere soon. Made from sheep skin & lined with wool, we are designed to keep your feet warm in winter & icy in summer & were first marketed towards ladies with nothing better to spend their money on.

Available in a variety of styles, different colours & different finishes, there was an ideal pair for everyone. The worst pair I ever set my eyes on was in the U.S – silver & metallic, we resembled something that Neil Armstrong probably wore on his trip to the moon. I hoped that we would not make it across the Atlantic but regrettably for Irish eyes all over the place, we did. We’ve invaded our shores & wardrobes of Irish womenfolk similar.

The Ugg phenomenon is down to an Australian man by the name of Shane Stedman. A lifelong surfer living by the beach in Sydney, Stedman made the boots to keep his feet warm at the beach after leaving the water. The idea was brought to America by a young surfer by the name of Brian Smith & soon the boots were beginning to gain popularity.

Stedman sold the rights to an American company which turned the product in to a $799 per-year enterprise. You are probably thinking that Stedman earned a fortune when he sold the rights. In actual fact, he sold the rights to the multi-million dollar UGG Classic Argyle Knit Boots enterprise for £10,000 & three pairs of Ugg boots every year for the remainder of his life. Sounds like an elementary man to keep happy.

Now however, Ugg have began to get their dirty hooves in to Irish men. We are falling in to the lovely, cosy & comfortable world of the Ugg or the Mugg (Male Uggs). It is not  ordinary guys who are being sucked in by the phenomenon, Hollywood stars such as Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck & Leonardo DiCaprio (above) have all been spotted wearing Ugg boots.

At first, you may think that New Uggs on a man would be  different to a woman. I mean, you could not go around wearing the same boots as your female mate, could you? Yet, surprisingly, there’s some styles that are not that similar to the female boots available.


Women’s Wear Every day went to Beijing & snapped some street style pics of all the fashionistas they encountered in Sanlitun Village & Shin Kong Place. & as Refinery 29 pointed out, two out of the five females photographed were wearing Uggs. Yup! The Ugg trend has gone global.

This might not make me happier. The more females who wear Uggs the better. My ideal world would be one wear they exclusively wear Uggs, but I’ll take acceptance of this sheepskin shoe first. Acceptance? Yes, acceptance. I feel like lots of men & females out there judge the Ugg, reject the Ugg, deny the Ugg. It is time for all that nonsense to cease.

Ladies: If your feet are worn out & your canines are barking after a few steps in those high heels, ditch them. Why put yourself (& us who must listen to about it) through that pain? Join the Ugg movement.

Gentleman: If your feet are cheap ugg boots sale worn out & your canines are barking after a few steps in those high heels, ditch them. (That was for a select few of you.) If you are worn out of having to take cabs all over the place because your lady cannot walk a few blocks, if you are sick of rubbing your lady’s feet at night, in case you can discover a woman sexy in anything, join the Ugg movement.
